Weymouth Little League 11 Gold Wins the Suburban League Championship
Coaches nickname the team “The Comeback Kids”

The summer season began with high hopes for the Weymouth Little League Eleven Year Old Gold All Stars. For many of the players, this was their fourth summer together as a team.  The 11 Gold team included Zach Bouhov, Andrew Clark, Domenic DePaoli, Sam Edge, David Erwin, Andrew Giovanetti, TJ Keefe, Sean Kennedy, Alex Kennedy, Jimmy Kurciviecz, Kevin McGrath, Xenon Simene and Will Spring. The team was coached byTom Keefe, Kevin McGrath and John Erwin.
The team finished with 8 wins and 2 losses in the Suburban League and qualified for the playoffs.  Weymouth opened the double-elimination format with a victory against Medfield and a tough loss to Wellesley.
It was beginning with the next game that Weymouth earned their nickname the “Comeback Kids”. Down by four runs to Westwood, they chipped away to force a tie in the sixth inning.   Zach Bouhov stepped to the plate and drilled a walk-off two-run home run to complete the comeback.
They spotted Quincy two runs before tieing the game in the fourth inning.  Quincy fought back and took a two run lead in the seventh.  The coaches pulled the team together and told them to believe in themselves. They are the Comeback Kids. The team took it to heart.  Dom DePaoli led off with a double to right field. Andrew Clark stroked a double to plate Dom. Andrew represented the tying run, Sam Edge needed to bunt him to third. He fouled off two pitches for strikes.  Sam dropped down a beautiful two strike bunt to move Andrew to third.  The next  batter, TJ Keefe hit a hard grounder between third and short and the game was tied.  Will Spring hit a double to left, moving TJ to third.  Alex Kennedy was walked to load the bases.  Zack Bouhov stepped up and smacked a line drive base hit scoring TJ Keefe for another extra inning walk off win.  The big win gave them the opportunity to play undefeated Wellesley.
Weymouth found themselves tied at one in the sixth inning.  In the top of the inning, Alex Kennedy hit a clutch two run home run to give Weymouth a 3 -1 lead.
They held on and the Comeback Kids were headed to the finals.
Weymouth faced Hanover in the finals.  Hanover had dealt Weymouth one of their two regular season losses and would be a tough opponent.  In the biggest game of the playoffs, Weymouth defeated Hanover by a final score of 10 to 5 to take home the Suburban League Championship.
