Weymouth Little League Minor League

The instructional and developmental baseball league, known as Weymouth Little League Minor League, began play in May 2007.

The league is open to all Weymouth boys and girls ages 7 and 8.  The program was created to help develop younger players’ baseball skills. Coaches from Weymouth Little League assist by teaching the proper techniques of batting, fielding and throwing.   The games are played at the Weymouth Little League complex on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Parents’ Commitment

Weymouth Little League, like many leagues, is a volunteer organization. Many dedicated individuals give generously of their time and talent to operate the league.  As a Little League parent, you are required to assist in the following areas:

1. Concession Stand
The concession stand helps to pay for the umpires for each game and defrays some of the league costs. Two parents are assigned to the concession stand each game.
Coaches will create a schedule for the parents.  If there is a situation where there concession stand or grill are shorthanded, please come and assist.
2. Fundraising
We will be holding our annual calendar sale.  This year it is mandatory that each player sell 10 calendars.  This supports the expenses of the league.  We need the financial support to offset expenses.
3. Field Maintenance
Coaches work to prepare the field after each game. If possible, we would appreciate volunteers from each team to help rake and prepare the field and clean the dugouts and bathrooms for the next game.

4.   Be a Fan
Please cheer as loud as possible.  Be positive.  We ask that there be  No negative comments about players or coaches and most important  -- no yelling at the Umpires or questioning calls.
